Two Weeks Deep Team By Team Review

Starting at the bottom...

16. Derek

Looking at Derek's team it is easy to see why they are 0-2. They lack in big play potential outside of Dez Bryant, who may no longer be a big play potential due to Tony Romo's constant injuries as well as just poor play all around. Also, even though Zeke hasn't made a huge impact yet, they sure do love handing that man the ball. Anyway, the rest of his team is dismal, and with Arian Foster and Brandon Marshall questionable this week, things might turn into a blowout. Derek needs to make some key moves in the coming weeks on waiver wire and in trades to stay relevant this season.

15. Caravati

A bit tougher to see why they are 2-0. Yes, Zeke has been frighteningly average thus far, but is getting a lot of touches, so has potential. Yes, Tyrod had a bad first game, but an amazing second game. David's major problem is bad luck thus far-- he is second in points against, playing against two juggernauts in Eric and James who put up big scores.

14. Justin

Justin benefited this week from a really stupid trade I made him (Jordy Nelson for Latavius Murray). Still not sure why I did that... but one of us has a win, so that's gotta mean something. Justin's running back is pretty atrocious, and even though he has a good corps of wideouts, he might as well leave the RB position open for as much help as Darren Sproles is going to give him. He also has Matt Stafford still starting at QB, but hopefully will put in Matt Ryan before this weekend's game for his own sake.

13. Joe D

A team that really should have two losses, but lucked out by playing the worst team in week 1 (even though this is probably the second worst team). Blame it on "young life" or "driving" but a bad draft means that Joe is going to struggle. Eddie Lacy? Desean Jackson? Mohammad Sanu? Woof. Look forward to playing the "Night Hole Diggers" because they may have gotten their only win this season.

12. David

QFTK should be a great team, but has a loss, and may start to lose a bunch more depending on the injuries to Baldwin and Petersen. They say that AP will be back soon, but i'm not sure if they saw the same injury video I did. Maybe AP got switched enough on his groin when he was a child that he doesn't feel pain there like the rest of us. Whatever the case, Tim may get the go-ahead win in week 3 because of pure luck. However, David did make the smart move by picking up Jerick McKinnon as a handy handcuff.

Conspiracy theory: AP got hurt on purpose

11. Joe V

Nobody tell Vick it is time to drop the Raiders D and get a new QB or we would be in real trouble. He beat Sam (a good team) by 14 points when the Raiders got him -2 Russell Wilson has put up two back-to-back 11 point, underwhelming performances. Hopefully he didn't see how well old Sammy Bradford played on Monday. Vick is the man to watch going forward, as much as it pains me to say it.

10. Tim

His running backs are all atrocious (The 2016 Gurley is not the 2015 Gurley unfortunately *Bust Alert*). But his wideouts hold their own (I really like Tyrell Williams now that injuries have opened up the way for him). And he gets back Brady in two weeks, as well as having a Panthers defense that is good for most of the game (Blaine Gabbert had no right to score that much on them). We will see if he can try to move Gurley off to greener pastures in exchange for a RB, or if he will pound some major currency in hoping Jonathan Stewart is hurt and Waiver Wiring Fozzy "The Bear" Whittaker.

9. Troy

His name may be "Dix Out" but it's more like "Pants Down" for ole Troy Boy, since he's been caught with them down thus far this season. Devonta Freeman and OBJ are both underproducing (Freeman is averaging 7.7 pts. a game, are you freaking kidding me?). And what looked like what could be a runaway season for Troy may quickly be turning into a fight not to slide down the long slope into mediocrity.

Troy won't be getting his one ring this year.

8. Casey

Casey sure has stepped up his game from last year. With a simply wonderful receiving corps and Gronk conspicuously due back the weekend Brady gets back (Gronk No Like Jimmy G). Casey is looking to hit the gas hard and cruise through the season. The worst part about Casey's team was finding a picture to put with it, so many options I had to get two! (and his running backs could be better).

7. Jack
From the Commish:

"With Jamaal Charles set to return this week for Nelson, Jack's Spencer Ware should return to backup status. Jack's strategy in the draft seems to have been to wait on RB, and take one of the last good ones available in Abdullah. With one injury, Jack now finds himself choosing between a talented backup (Ware) and a sad-face starter (Forsett).
While he still has Green, Lockett, Luck, and Witten, suddenly his two FLEX players are Tavon Austin and Jeremy Kerley.
If there was ever a time for his juggernaut-abilities to show up, this would be that time. Otherwise, James' prediction might end up being too close for Jack's comfort. I mean, do they even offer the SAT where you live now? Do kids from Kansas/Missouri even have to take the SAT? Or is the ability to address and stamp an envelope with a piece of paper saying "please accept me" enough for the University of Kansas admissions board?"

6. Sam. If Sam's team can stay healthy, then there is no reason he shouldn't be in the playoff picture... Wait, yeah there is. He needs to see increased production out of Michael Floyd, but that will probably come with time (Larry Fitz is gettin' old). Also, was week 1 a fluke for Hyde or week 2? Will DJJ ever become a solid contributor? Will Julio Jones be able to stay healthy and repeat last year's production? Does Sam need to invest in a running back? Many questions, fewer answers.

Note: this is not about Derek

5. James

By far the most consistent scoring week to week of everyone in the leauge, I offered up a super stupid trade to Justin. Probably need to get back Jordy (or another caliber receiver at one point), but hopefully RBs will keep going down and trades get desperate. Definitely a playoff contender, though the bench is really hit or miss. Needs DeAngelo Williams to maintain starting role even after Bell comes back. (Currently the number one RB in the league... Bell can't be that good...)

It's all about the Benjamins, baby.

4. Joe N.

Thankfully, Joe only has two Tampa Bay players on his team, so he is giving himself a chance to win. Cam is pretty much a Running back/Quarterback combo, and for all the haters who said he wouldn't be able to produce as much this year, I think he is proving them wrong. That being said, a couple more hits to the head and he will be sponsored by V8. Jimmy Graham is a waste of a tight end, and Stefon Diggs is awesome-- and it looks like Sam Bradford is too, so watch out. "He's a winner" - Donald Trump.

Joe would have the whole city playing if possible.

3. Martin

"Whoa, Martin is undefeated after two weeks, he must be great this year!" Not so fast my friend-- Martin has only had 150 pts. scored against him (less than what Jack scored in week 1). In fact, he has far and away the least points against out of anyone. That combined with a couple above average performances leaves Martin undefeated, but probably not for long.

 Oprah Palmer

2. Isaac

If Isaac wins his first year in the league I'm gonna be f*cking pissed.

 Classic Todd.

1. Eric

With all of his players except one averaging above 10 points a game (and CJ Anderson breaking everyone's expectations and averaging 20+), it's not tough to understand how he is still undefeated. Captain Kirk at the helm and the boys out to play, Eric is rolling, and also looks like he is trying to make all his players average more than 10 with now half of his bench consisting of tight end options. Can anyone beat Brown Town Throwdown? (Obviously not Jack, who pissed me off by scoring half of his first week points against Eric).

 No RG3 for anyone anymore.
